On January 1, like most other people, I swore I was going to stop procrastinating and just do it -- blogging, that is. So here I am, one month later, trying to hold myself accountable. I figure if I attempt it again, hopefully it will become a regular habit.
As a solo business owner, it's not like I don't have anything better to do. But today I found myself with a few hours before my next appointment. I had several choices of how to spend that time -- get my 2010 tax papers in order, tackle a few tasks on my 3-page To Do list, start a new painting, clear off my desk, or blog. I actually did spend some time working on my taxes, even though that was my least favorite thing to do. And then I answered a few e-mails, so I felt thoroughly productive. So I gave myself permission to indulge and begin a new blog. Blogging is a whole new world to me, but I know it's one I must learn in order to stay current with the social media phenomenon that has taken us all by storm. It's no longer enough to have a website. Now I hear you need a blog to go along with it!
So I will start out slow, as I spend time learning the ins and outs. My passion is decorative painting, so that will be my main focus. I am trying to be mindful of taking Before, During and After pictures of my projects, so I can describe the process of each project. I always enjoy that when I am on someone else's artistic blog.
But I also hope to share things I come across that are of interest to those of you that could care less about painting. So, thanks for listening, and following me on my creative journey.
